That is the whole reason this exists. Not because I healed. I did not. I am trying to understand why the trail keeps doing this to me, and I would rather work it out in front of you than hand you a conclusion I have not earned.
When my attention narrows, I lose the landscape. I stare harder at the problem. I re-play it. I try to think my way through it. But more thinking does not always create more perspective. Sometimes I need my body to go first.
For too long, I made the place and the people one and the same. The woods and the family fused in my head. So when the people went wrong, I exiled myself from the ground along with them. I stayed away and called the distance peace.
